Elden Ring- Game of the Year

Elden Ring- Game of the Year

This year Elden Ring has been a huge deal and the talk of the gaming community. Everyone is obsessed. The dark fantasy action role-playing game has an award-winning storyline and interactive open-world.

Gameplay mainly focuses on combat and exploration. Gamers can develop skills through elements such as crafting, horseback riding, magic spells, and more. The open-world is visually epic, detailed, and large in scope. Before the storyline begins, your customizable character will have to go out into the world and find the map to begin with. Such a unique challenge in comparison to most games on the market.

The creators of the popular series, Dark Souls, have truly captured gamers' interest, especially those who are adventure chasers. When the game was launched, reviewers praised the exploration mechanics and admired the challenging gameplay. People love the discovery aspect of the game and enjoy the ability to roam the map for hours with challenging gameplay before even having to jump into the storyline of the game.

George R.R. Martin, author of "Game of Thrones," was involved with the creation of the backstory of the game. The game developers reached out to him, presenting the blueprint for the game. During an interview with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show, he revealed, “ I went back and wrote a history of what happened 5,000 years before the current game, and who all the characters were.”

The game was first revealed at the 2019 E3 gaming convention and was the most memorable moment of the Xbox showcase. In 2020, at The Game Awards, the game won Most Anticipated Game.

The game officially launched to the public in February 2022. By the end of March 2022, just a month after its release, it had sold 13.4 million copies worldwide, and by September, 17.5 million copies were in households, making it the fastest-selling Bandai Namco game ever.

From 2020 to 2022, Elden Ring was nominated for 23 awards and won 18. It recently won Game of the Year at The Game Awards, hosted in Los Angeles this year.

Elden Ring is currently available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.

Elden Ring- GOTY Acceptance Speech

Elden Ring took home the Game of the Year Award at this year’s Game Awards 2022 on December 8th. A bizarre moment occurred during the acceptance speech, bringing to mind memories of Kanye West crashing Taylor Swift’s big moment at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. This year, Elden Ring developers did not notice a stage-crasher until he grabbed the mic during their acceptance speech.

“We still have several things we want to do, so getting the Game of the Year Award really encourages us,” Elden Ring Game Director Hidetaka Miyazaki said through a translator, before the interruption. In the chaotic moment, the music was cued, while the stage crasher said: “Real quick I want to thank everybody and say that I think I want to nominate this award to my reformed orthodox rabbi, Bill Clinton. Thank you everybody.” According to reports, the individual was arrested for the intrusion!
