Fall Fashion Eyewear Trends

Fall Fashion Eyewear Trends

It’s the time of year to highlight the accessories in your wardrobe. Fall and pre-winter fashion are in full effect already! Booties, different textures, layers, and sweaters—but it's important not to forget accessories. The focal point of accessories this season is eyewear.

This season's fashion trends have called for us to wear Y2K aesthetics and classic sleek sunglasses. And, for optical frames, we are going more fun and quirky with the favorable retro cat-eye, round, colorful, oversized, thick, and wooden frames.

Fashion week was only a few months ago, and style icons have already shopped the latest runway looks and incorporated the trendiest sunglasses into their wardrobes. This year’s series of events shows that pretty much everything is in.

Fashionistas and models like Kendall Jenner have been recently seen sporting the new Irene Square-Frame Acetate Sunglasses. The brand Moda Operandi, founded by the stylish Italian designers Giorgia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio, has countless sunglasses to take an outfit to the next level.

The large-framed white sunglasses have been seen a lot during the pre-fall season and continue to make an appearance in many trendsetters' outfits. They are so epic and were a huge hit during the 1930’s and 1940’s. Although they may seem unusual, they can be paired with many outfit combinations. They can be styled with a bright outfit with colors like fuchsia and royal blue or an all-black outfit.

Seen on social media apps or on the streets of New York this past month, many people are rocking sporty biker shades. They have been seen on Kanye West, Iris Law, Amelia Gray-Hamlin, Lil Uzi Vert, and Rihanna this past year. They are very futuristic looking, and street stylists have been pairing them with track pants, loose pants, hoodies, and form-fitting tops.

‘The Little Black Sunnies’, made popular by Hailey Bieber, give a chic and timeless look. In the 90’s they were seen on A-list celebrities like Julia Roberts. This style can be found pretty much anywhere, from Shein to Bottega Veneta.

Oval, diamond, heart, round, and square— No matter the shape of your face, there will be no issue finding the perfect prescription glasses to be a part of the ‘wave’ because there are many options to choose from. There’s freedom to be really creative with it. And if you like the look, but the fit isn’t perfect, there’s always aftermarket eyeglass nose pads that can keep your eyewear comfortably secure in place.

Color-tinted glasses are becoming extremely popular and are great if a look needs to be more lively. Zenni Optical and YesGlasses both offer selections that are color-tinted. YesGlasses’ collection of eccentric glasses is large. The YesGlasses shop has over 2,000 unique looks to match any mood, and opticians personalize glasses to fit eyecare requirements.

As a part of the Y2K-vintage ambience, rimless glasses have been making a major comeback, especially for men's fashion. Many are shopping glasses similar to the Rimless Buffalo-horn Cartier, and dupes can be found at Zenni Optical.

Transparent frames are in and have been for a while. They are practical and match all outfits without thought, and they give a nice, clean, polished appearance. With this, more standard frames are ideal, but limits can be pushed with thicker frames; either will do.

The hexagonal framed glasses are a great look for bookworms and professionals alike. They are so very fun to look at and fit a variety of face shapes. Gold, black, and silver are the standard colors, but simple colors are all that’s really needed because the hexagonal frames are the most important feature.

Quite the variety of choices. Timeless-looking sunglasses and nostalgic vintage eyeglasses are huge right now. This fall appears to be all about having fun with our frames and letting our personalities shine through with our own personal style.
